Tray - Pill & Vitamin Reminder
Reminders are not arriving
This is almost always the phone holding notifications back rather than Tray. Tray checks for the common causes itself and tells you plainly when it finds one - open Settings in the app and look at the reminder health line first. Then check:
- Notification permission. iOS: Settings → Notifications → Tray, with Allow Notifications on and Lock Screen enabled. Android: Settings → Apps → Tray → Notifications.
- Focus, Do Not Disturb or a sleep schedule. If a routine falls inside one, allow Tray through it.
- Battery optimisation (Android). Settings → Apps → Tray → Battery, set to Unrestricted. On Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and Samsung there is usually a second, manufacturer-specific list - Autostart, Protected apps, or "Allow background activity" - that must be enabled too.
- Exact alarms (Android 12 and later). Settings → Apps → Tray → Alarms & reminders, allowed.
- After a restart, reminders are rescheduled automatically. Opening the app once confirms it.
I bought Tray Pro and it is locked again
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases (it is also on the paywall). Make sure you are signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account that made the purchase. A purchase the store still reports as pending does not unlock anything until it clears.
I changed phones - how do I bring my data over?
Tray stores everything on the device and never uses a cloud, so it does not sync by itself. With Tray Pro, export a backup file from Settings on the old phone, move the file across, and restore it on the new one. Your Pro entitlement is deliberately not carried in the backup file - use Restore Purchases for that. Without Pro, the free CSV export keeps a readable copy of your history.
How do I get my history out?
Settings → Export. You get a CSV spreadsheet of the full history, free, handed to your device's share sheet. It never passes through us.
Can Tray warn me about drug interactions?
No, and it never will. Tray is a reminder, not a medical device - there is no drug database behind it. Ask a pharmacist or your doctor.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app. Everything goes with it. There is no account and no server, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf - and nothing for us to recover afterwards. See the Privacy Policy.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by the store, not by us. On iOS use reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, the Play Store's order history. If something in the app misled you, tell us anyway - we would like to fix it.
Feature requests and bugs
Send them to tray@benbasha.com. Steps to reproduce, your device model and your OS version make a bug about ten times faster to fix.
